It all started when Reinaldo A. Mendoza shifted from wearing a white coat to hanging out with creatives and artists.
Losing a hobby (a note from Reinaldo):
“I was going to be a surgeon. But once I started seeing patients every day, I felt empty. Their problems didn’t move me the way they should. I realized I wasn’t built to fix bodies… I was built to create.
Right after graduating from medical school, my friend and I made what was supposed to be a simple project. It became a 30-second animated TV spot. That first project changed everything. I never practiced medicine again.”
The shift taught us how to blend two very different worlds: the precision and structured thinking of the sciences with the pure joy of making something from nothing. That’s how it works at Biota.
